Well, I am becoming a devotee of Melody's. It was bound to happen sometime, and here are my early results - this whole piece has not a single bit of piecing! All fused - BRAND new for me (rarely used fusing before two months ago) so I'm pretty happy!

It is FAR from flat, the diagonals aren't straight, and I used too much pink (luminosity balance? What's that!?!?), but I am looking forward to trying the Escape Hatch on it as well (more Melody Magic).

I'm having problems with the bare WU sticking to my sewing machine base (since I still had to zigzag all the exposed edges with monofilament top and bottom), and I'm glad that I didn't put WU on the back of the white piece as well!

I'm still trying to work out how I want to quilt this one, but hopefully I'll get it done this week...

  1. Not only do you take hints, you're pretty darn fast to top it off!

I like mending broken dishes piece. How about looking at it for a few days without the borders to see if you like it? The borders seem to abruptly stop the motion that is going on.
